Another Eat, Pray, Love Quote

Some people believe that a person who comes into your life to help you grow is not someone you would want to live with because of the resistance to change. A true soul mate is not a fool, but a very wise being who will walk away when you refuse to change your ways.

It is sad that people think that real love means the happy fairy tale, but got to tell people what they want to hear to sell books I guess. No wonder the divorce rate is over 50% and number of single people is the highest it has ever been. If it involves work and suffering, it can’t possibly be love?

These days values, morals, and discipline is everything that’s bad for you because happiness is all about feeling good and doing what you want.

While we shout directions at Carrie and get frustrated when she keeps going back to Big. I realize that maybe it's karma, maybe it's fate, or maybe simply we just can't move on because we KNOW there's so much more that 'we' can be.

What if we, all girls, have a Carrie living within ourselves and we all have our Mr. Big?

Sandspur Opinion Column #2

Who said our soul mate has to be that one person? Maybe every person we encounter is a gift to us, they are sent to us to make us better in some way.
If nothing is ever created or destroyed in the universe, does that not mean we are the epitome forever? Let's jump back to what I talked about in my last post: we are composed of recycled 'being' of living beings.
Allow me to elaborate, let's say I, Roxanne Lo, am composed of 30% tree root, 10% moss, 35% stardust, 4% squirrel, 16% seashell etc. This is why I am more inclined to become friends with someone whose being has an equal amount of composition and why we feel complete and at ease with certain people.
If my friend (let's call her A) has 28% tree root in her system, our souls would be attracted and want to be near each other because in our past life, they were part of another being as a whole. This sense of unity brings us close together. We are best friends because our composition is at an almost identical 'frequency.'
I believe most people are aware some of their friends are comfortable with meeting new people and branching out whereas some are less comfortable doing so. This can be explained by the possibility of having a wide variety of element in a person's being because even the tiniest particle in their soul is strong enough to allow them to be interested by the other person, therefore compatible with someone even without having similar amount of composition.

The universe is a place where time does not exist. What I mean is, instead of saying time is a flowing river, it is more accurate to say that it is a lake with millions and millions of tributaries. This theory enables time traveling because one would be "hopping" from one stream that is parallel to another.

This is one of my favorite poems and I constantly refer to it. Since we can all agree that nothing in the universe is ever created or destroyed, our being is recycled along with other beings' being. Maybe we are not looking for our soul mate but soul mates. Maybe those we hold near and dear are our soul mates. What does the term 'soul mate' mean anyway?

I believe that we are composed of a whole bunch of molecules of every being you can imagine that once existed on this planet, and through death, our being is mixed and reforms us as different individuals. What I'm getting at is: we are at ease and experience a kind of closeness with certain people because we used to be One.
